cape ann

right outside the entrance to the campground we are staying
in on cape ann, just outside gloucester, ma. the campground is
called cape ann camp site. it is an interesting campground,
all of the sites are cool, but very rustic. the 30 amp breaker
won't run all of the gagets (refrigerator, water heater) we have
so we had to switch them to propaine, and when we tried to light
the water heater we had flames spewing out the side and up
into the wireing, evidently a spider had made a home
in the gas line. all better now
just up the road in rockport anyone feeling dingy (haha) the fishing shack, they claim that it is one of the most photographed buildings in the world, i can't recall ever seeing it before
this was an old granite quarry.

last day on cape cod

anyone for a beach toy
someone did it again and let all the water out
sunset from race point on cape cod, we were actually
due to leave today but seemed to have spaced it off
and when we returned there were several notes taped to
our door demanding that we get to the office asap and pay
for an additional day.
we are going to another cape tomorrow, cape may just north of boston
from the reviews you either love or hate the place, we will see.

a peaceful day

today we drove into provincetown for a look around
and found this garden in front a quaint b & b it had lots of lilly's
it also had a great looking snail
i scaled the pilgrim tower
and then took a labored stroll on the beach
(sand is hard to walk in)

plymouth, ma

yesterday we went on a little wander down to hyannis port
to see where the kennedys play, and low and behold
we actually saw one of them. (no photos, that would be tacky)
but there facial features leave little doubt who they are.
so while we were that far down on the cape we decided to take a
side trip to plymouth, the house above, although probably not pink
at the time was built in 1640, the mini-van was probably there though.
the grist mill is among the oldest in the united states and
now serves as an ice cream parlor, restraunt and bar as well as
musem and gift shop
and here is the actual rock, they have it corraled so it won't
run away. it has been moved and thus broken into several
peices, i have no idea how old the mortar holding it into one peice is.
a half size replica of the mayflower, guess it was built for
small pilgrams, and did you know that they wern't called
pilgrams until sometime in the 1800's.

another rainy day in paridise

i think someone pulled the plug
and let the water out. one of the many lights on cape cod. saw this sign, took a shot of it for vicky
a couple of beach shots, just down the road from
the campground. not doing much today but relaxing.
it has been raining alot, but yesterday the tempature nearly made it to 65
week went for her first walk on the beach, bitched
the whole time that her feet were getting wet, and really
had a fit when i put her down in a puddle to wash off her paws.

island hopping today

today we did a little island hopping, we caught a ferry
out of hyannas port and went over to nantucket from around 11:30
until around 4:00 we took an island tour, not a very big island
but there was a lot to see. the photo below is the harbor as we were
pulling up to dock.
we then caught a high speed ferry over to marthas vinyard, that took about an hour
we decided to rent a jeep and tour the island ourselves.
we took the insurance on the jeep, the way our luck has been going...
the three photos above are of one of the light houses and just a couple of
other shots of the sun, water and boats.
tomorrow and over the weekend we are not planning much
due to all of the weekend traffic, not as bad as some
but we have the beach within bike riding distance, yeah right, rose marie
hasn't ridden hers at all and i just use mine to take the
trash to the dumpster, hahaha, a wise investment they were.

finially a hot spot

ok the last few days we have had a hell of a time getting things
to upload from where we are camped, so i am wrighting this
from under the l train outside of yankee stadium. we have visited woodstock as well as bethal woods where the
woodstock music festisval was actually held, getting there was a chore
in 2009, have no idea how they all got there in 69.
for those of you looking for the next vehicle carnage, here it is.
driving down the road in albany and some lady expected me to
move, boy was she mistaken.
they were having a cat thing in catskill, they had different cats painted all over town and they even had some painted statues ha haand a lovely shot of the hudson river and hudson river valley. we came down to "the city" today and were able to manage the traffic although we haven't left yet and will have to make another trip in to head out to long island.
